Katherine Friedel M.S., CF-SLP
Katherine Friedel M.S., CF-SLP earned her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Her passion for speech-language pathology began through volunteer work at a summer speech camp and a hippotherapy center, where she assisted in therapy sessions for children with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, and other speech and language challenges. These early experiences shaped Kathy's commitment to helping children improve their communication skills in meaningful and individualized ways.
Kathy has experience working with students across preschool, elementary, and high school settings, gaining valuable insight into the unique needs of each age group. She believes in a compassionate, evidence-based approach that fosters both communication and confidence. Looking ahead, Kathy plans to pursue a bilingual extension to support the growing need for bilingual services and to better serve diverse communities. She is excited to continue learning and growing as a clinician dedicated to making a difference at Astoria Speech + Language.
