How do I make an appointment?
To get started, please visit the “Get Started” page on our website and complete the inquiry and benefits check form. This form will ask for your insurance information.
Please note that we are unable to schedule appointments until we receive verification and additional details from your insurance provider.

Do I need a referral?
Whether a referral is required depends on your specific insurance plan. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for clarification.

Do I need an evaluation?
Yes, all new patients are required to have a current evaluation. If you have not had one within the past year or do not have a current IEP, we can conduct an evaluation for you.
If you already have an evaluation or IEP, please email us a copy for review and approval.

How long does an evaluation take?
Evaluations are conducted in a one-hour session. You will receive a written report within two weeks, along with information about scheduling availability.

Does my evaluation have to take place at the same location as my sessions?
No, your evaluation can be conducted at a different location than your preferred session site.

Do you offer evaluations after school hours?
Occasionally, we do offer evaluation appointments after school hours. However, most evaluations are scheduled during school hours, as they are a one-time service. This allows us to prioritize after-school availability for ongoing, weekly sessions.

Do you offer virtual evaluations or sessions?
Yes, we offer both virtual evaluations and sessions. If you are interested in a virtual evaluation, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Depending on the type of evaluation, we may recommend an in-person visit to ensure the most accurate diagnostic impressions and treatment plan.

For ongoing services, we also have clinicians who provide virtual therapy sessions, and you may request to be scheduled with a virtual therapist.

What is your availability?
Our schedule changes frequently as patients begin and complete services. Our typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with limited Sunday availability at our Astoria location.

Which clinician should I choose?
All of our clinicians are experienced in working with both children and adults. They provide support in areas such as feeding, literacy/reading, articulation, pragmatics, stuttering, language development, etc., while also offering a wide range of additional services tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. You can feel confident selecting any member of our team.

How often do sessions occur?
Sessions are held on a weekly basis. You will be scheduled for the same time, location, clinician, and day each week. Depending on your evaluation recommendations and insurance allowances, you may be eligible for multiple sessions per week. These sessions can take place at different locations—for example, one session per week in Astoria and another in LIC.

How long are sessions?
Sessions are 30 minutes in duration.

Once I am scheduled, do I keep my session time indefinitely?
Your session time is reserved for you for the duration of the school year. Prior to the summer, you will have the option to adjust your schedule, select a new time, or take a break for the summer months.

Can I attend sessions every other week?

No, sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis to ensure consistency and progress. We also have a cancellation policy in place, which will be reviewed with you upon scheduling.
