
Elana Shoykhet

Elana is a New York State licensed and American Speech and Language Association (ASHA) Certified Speech and Language Pathologist. She holds a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate with a Bilingual Extension. Elana received her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from SUNY Cortland and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Mercy College.
Elana has experience providing speech and language therapy in the school setting where she develops and implements individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in K-5th grade. Elana supervises graduate students for their school-based externships. She also has Early Intervention experience in home care and clinic settings working with children ages birth-3. Elana has a variety of clinical skills in the areas of expressive and receptive language, articulation and phonology, fluency, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and feeding difficulties/ disorders. Elana is trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding Program. Additionally, she is Level 2 PROMPT trained and is bilingual in Russian.
Elana is passionate about utilizing creative and high interest materials to motivate children during therapy sessions. She is enthusiastic about helping children build positive relationships with food. Elana is dedicated to supporting children’s goals and individual needs by collaborating with families to ensure carryover into naturalistic settings.
