Mia Sullivan

M.S., CF-SLP, TSSLD

Mia is a New York State and American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) certified Speech Language Pathologist. Mia earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona, where she majored in Speech Language Hearing Sciences and minored in Deaf Studies. Mia received her Master of Science in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University. Mia also holds a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate. 

For the past year, Mia has worked in a school setting with students aged 8 - 11 who have complex medical diagnoses. Through this experience, Mia has experience working with individuals who have the following diagnoses: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Blindness, Cerebral Palsy, Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing, Pediatric Dysphagia (feeding/swallowing disorders), Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders/Delays, Intellectual Disabilities of varying severity, Motor Speech Disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Mia is a skilled teacher of AAC devices and has received training from Tobii Dynavox and PRC-Saltillo. Mia routinely implements basic American Sign Language to facilitate communication for Deaf and Nonverbal clients. 

Mia specializes in creating an individualized treatment plan that encourages generalization of communication skills across a variety of contexts outside of therapy. Mia is passionate about facilitating increased self-confidence in clients regarding communication and engagement with their environment.
