Leah Blakeley is the owner and senior clinician at Astoria Speech and Language. She is a New York state licensed and American Speech and Language Association (ASHA) Certified Speech Language Pathologist who works and resides in New York City. Leah received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Master’s of Arts from New York University in Speech-Language Pathology.
Leah is PROMPT trained (PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets: a multi-sensory and holistic approach to speech and oral motor therapy), certified in the Orton Gillingham based reading program Wilson Reading System, and holds a TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) certificate in New York State.
Leah has taught the graduate course on Language Disorders in School Aged Children at New York University and been guest lecturer for New York University’s graduate program in Speech Language Pathology each semester for the last 3 years. Leah is conversational in American Sign Language. She has twelve years of Speech Therapy experience both in schools and in private practice.
